William “Bill” James Alexander Mennie of Pennfield NB
passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative
Care Unit on Saturday, October 12, 2013. Leaving to mourn his loving
and devoted wife Isabelle “Kay”, one aunt, Alice (Alonzo)
Hall of St. George NB, one uncle, Robert (Theresa) Anderson of
Fredericton NB, son and daughter, Bill and Sonya of Newfoundland,
several nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman, acting as a hunting guide during his early teen years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and wilderness camping. After graduation from high school, Bill joined the R.C.M.P., spending all of his time in the force in small communities in Newfoundland. Following retirement he returned to his native, Pennfield, where he became very active in ATVing, not only enjoying his time on the trails but serving on many committees. Bill will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB with visiting on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the Christ Church (Anglican), Pennfield NB on Tuesday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Canon Keith Osborne officiating, followed by the interment at the parish cemetery. In Bill’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
