Malcolm Daniel Shaw
Surrounded by his loving family, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on April 17, 2008, following a period of failing health, Mr. Malcolm Daniel Shaw, husband of Hilda May (O’Brien) Shaw of Second Falls NB. Born in Loch Lomond, Richmond Co. NS on June 3, 1932, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Monroe) Shaw. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Malcolm is survived by his wife, Hilda, one son, Kevin (Debbie) Shaw of St. George NB, one granddaughter, Jacklyn Shaw of Saint John, special granddaughter, April Stevens of Bonny River NB, two sisters; Mary (Carl) Roper of Ingonish NS and Helen (Allister) Lundrigan of Sydney NS and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers; Allister, Roddy and Willy, and three sisters; Florence Shaw, Christy Wagner and Wilma Severance.

Malcolm and his family came to the Bonny River area 25 years ago to work at Mt. Pleasant Mines until its closure. Malcolm was employed as a miner most of his working life at various mines throughout Eastern and Northern Canada. He loved being outside and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and feeding deer. The love and kindness that Malcolm shared with his family, as well as his friends and the children he befriended over the years was very important to him. The family would like to send a special thank you to the Doctors, nurses and staff of the MICU and 4CN at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their amazing care and compassion.

By request there will be no visitation. A service will be held on June 3rd, 2008 at 2:00 from the Calvin Presbyterian Kirk at Loch Lomond NS. In Malcolm’s memory donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
