Wesley Harvey Patterson

The unexpected passing of Wesley Harvey Patterson, beloved husband of Josephine M. (Hanley) Patterson occurred at their home at Back Bay NB on July 1, 2026. Born at Back Bay NB on September 12, 1940, he was a son of the late Thomas and Kathleen (Hanley) Patterson.

A loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather as well as beloved brother, he is survived by his wife Josephine, his sons: Thomas (Laurie) Patterson and Scott (Daisy) Patterson both of Back Bay NB, daughter in law; Ava Mullins of Blacks Harbour NB, his grandchildren: Cassidy Patterson, Cailey (Patrick) Fernie, Keaton Patterson, Jaxen Patterson, Renee Patterson, great granddaughter; Fallon Fernie, his sisters: Mae Hanley of Back Bay NB and Lottie Richardson of Blacks Harbour NB as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many brother’s and sister’s  in law. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son; Steven, sister in infancy; Rhoda Patterson, his brother; Fred as well as many brother and sister in law’s. Prior to his illness,

Wesley was a fisherman by trade, both in the shellfish and on the water for various employers as well as for himself. Wesley truly loved and found peace and beauty both on the water as well as strolling the beach. He was a member of the Seaview Full Gospel Church in Back Bay and with his relationship with his Lord and Saviour, inspired him to writing poetry. Wesley especially loved his family and treasured the time spent with them. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Seaview Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB with visiting on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be from the church on Sunday at 2pm with Pastor Paul Legere and Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating followed by interment in the Back Bay Community Cemetery. In Wesley’s memory, donations to Christians for Israel, c/o Seaview Full Gospel Church or a charity of the donors choice.
