Stephen Glenn Borthwick

The passing of Stephen Glenn Borthwick of Saint John NB occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on June 17, 2026. Born in Saint John on March 6, 1960, he was a son of the late Glendon H. Borthwick and Nancy L. (Taylor) Borthwick.

Stephen is survived by his children: Lindsey McFarlane of Lepreau NB and Brian Borthwick of Saint John NB and grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers: Tommy (Patti) Borthwick of Utopia NB and Garth (Dolores) Borthwick of Pennfield NB; his sister, Sally (Tim) Richard of Pennfield NB; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was predeceased by one son, Andrew Borthwick; and by his stepmother, Ellen (Bradford) Borthwick.

When Stephen was younger, he mainly worked in the trucking and carpentry sectors. An avid outdoorsman, he always had a passion for both hunting and fishing. Stephen was currently a resident of the Forest Hill Special Care Home in Saint John and he truly excelled under their care. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to not only Janet Hebert, but to Cindy, Stephanie, Gerry, Ashley and Robin for their dedication and compassionate care while he was a resident. It gave us all peace of mind knowing he was well taken care of.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at Christ Church (Anglican), Pennfield NB with visiting on Tuesday from 6-8 pm. The service will be held from the church on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Caleb Twinamatsiko officiating. In Stephen’s memory, donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
