Vance William McLeese
1936-2026
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Vance William McLeese on June 17, 2026 at Wauklehegan Manor, McAdam NB. Born in Back Bay NB on May 18, 1936, he was a son of the late H. Warden and Ethel (Hooper) McLeese.
Vance was a loving father to his two stepsons, Wayne (Deborah) MacQuarrie and Michael (Joyce) MacQuarrie both of Pennfield NB; grandfather to six step grandchildren, twelve step great-grandchildren and two step great-great-grandchildren; father-in-law to Gary Annable of Winchester ON; and an uncle to several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, Vance was predeceased by his loving wife, Audrey Mae (Hooper) McLeese; his stepdaughter, Diane Annable; and by siblings: Warden, Seymour, Clifton, Clara, Fanny, Helen, Jean and Leona.
In 1933, after 30 years of service, Vance retired from driving buses, street cars and subway trains for the Toronto Transport Commission in Toronto. After retirement, Vance and Audrey moved to Winchester ON to be close to their daughter, Diane and her husband Gary and son Thomas. He loved to travel and made numerous trips to New Brunswick and Newfoundland as well as going south to Georgia and Florida.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB from where the service will be held on Saturday at 3:30 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. Visiting at the church will take place on Saturday, beginning at 1:00 pm until the service time. Vance will then be transferred to Ontario where he will be laid to rest with his wife Audrey in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Winchester ON. In his memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
