Gilbert Ralph King
1938-2024
The sudden passing of Gilbert Ralph King occurred at his residence at St. George NB on December 25, 2024. Born at Fredericton NB on May 1, 1938, he was a son of the late Joseph and Bertha May (Lindsey) King.
A loving chosen father, brother, uncle and friend to many, he is survived by his chosen daughter; Leslie (Michael) Young of L’Etange NB, his brother; Eugene of Oromocto NB, his sister: Wilma Corning of the U.S, sister in law; Nina King of Breadlebane NB as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his special companion Joan Marie Leslie as well as his siblings: Joseph, Donald, Verna, Greta and Frances.
Gilbert started working in the woods when he was 12 years old and continued into his 70’s. He also worked as a carpenter, but the woods was his passion, therefore it comes as no surprise that he was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Gib called out a nice cow moose as well as tagged his deer last season. Gilbert also loved camping and four wheeling, especially with his late partner Marie. Most importantly, Gilbert was a devoted Christian man who served his lord all his life.
The family would like to thank Extra Mural St. George for their kind and compassionate care given to Gilbert as well as Nina to allow Gilbert to return home.
