M. Elaine Leslie

The passing of Elaine Leslie occurred on Saturday, November 2^nd, 2024 at Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB, following a brief illness. Born November 5th, 1942 in St. Stephen NB, she was the Daughter the late Edgar Tilley "Ned" and Lulu "Irene" (Chaffey) Calder and Raised by her father and the late Anna (Bardslokken) Calder. A loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and friend. Elaine is survived by her sons: Allen Leslie (Ted Jones) of Saint John NB, Anthony Leslie of Saint John NB, Grant Leslie (Averosa) of Ontario and Brian Leslie (Elvie Suyat) of Pennfield NB; grandchildren: Kayla (Shawn Avery), Justin and Akira; two great-grandsons: Levi and Theo; Sister-in-Law Sandra Calder of Vancouver BC); Neice: Leah Calder of Vancouver BC and Nephew Ian Calder of Fredericton: K9 companion Tracy. Besides her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her Husband Willard Allen Leslie, Brother Keith Calder; Cousins, Grant Wilson and Katherine Lamb.

Elaine was known as a kind woman full of strength and a love of God. In her younger years, she was an Elementary School Teacher, Sardine Packer, and Wreath maker. Elaine was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in her mid-thirties, which quickly brought pain to her every move and took away her manual dexterity, she seldom complained. In her later years she enjoyed Genealogy, Country and Gospel Music, Quilt making, Knitting, Gardening, Bird and Animal Watching, and visits with friends. She was a longtime member of the Leonardville Church Choir and Leonardville Woman's Choir. Her wisdom, kindness and golden heart will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

The family would like to thank all of the Deer Island Home Care Workers and the Doctor's and Nurses of Floor 1 at Charlotte County Hospital for all their care and support. It was greatly appreciated and will always be remembered. 

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. There will be no visiting. A memorial service will take place at the Leonardville Church of Christ, Leonardville NB on Thursday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Richard Hovey officiating followed by the interment at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery, Calder's Head NB. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leonardville Church of Christ, Charlotte County SPCA or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
