Carol Mildred Buchanan

The passing of Carol Mildred (Stairs) Buchanan occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on October 28, 2024. Born in Saint John NB on October 27, 1942, she was a daughter of the late George and Marion (Hope) Stairs. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Carol is survived by her children: Randy (Rose) Buchanan of Haggerty’s Cove NB and Lisa Buchanan of Utopia NB; grandchildren: Sarah Cheney (Julie Bonvie) of Utopia NB and Matthew Buchanan of Haggerty’s Cove NB; one sister, Donna (Joe) Sheehan of Saint John NB; a special cousin, Shirley Powell of Fredericton NB; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her husband, William Buchanan.

Prior to retirement, Carol worked many years as a home support worker. She truly loved taking care of others and was blessed to have found a career that allowed her to do so. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and taking back road trips, especially out to Piskahegan. Her love for her family was immeasurable and she enjoyed spending all the time she could with those she loved, especially her best feline companion, "Tim Bit." Her love, devotion and selflessness will be sadly missed by her family.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. In keeping with Carol’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. In her memory, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
