Ronald Beverley Hanley

1938-2024

Ronald Beverley Hanley

Peacefully at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB on September 11, 2024, Ronald Beverley Hanley, formerly of Back Bay NB, walked through the Gates of Glory to join his wife of 67 years, Hilda, who went before him only three weeks ago. Born in Back Bay NB on April 3, 1938, he was a son of the late Beverley and Pauline (McCarty) Hanley.

A loving father, step-father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Ronald is survived by his daughter, Janice (Angus) Monks of L’Etang NB; step-sons, Murvin (Peggy) Matheson of Back Bay NB and Bedford Matheson of Pennfield NB; five grandchildren, Robin Patrick Monks, Shelly (Mark) Matheson, Margie (Leroy) Nadeau, Ann (Grady) Middleton and Angela McLellan; five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Cyril (Norma) Hanley, Ellery (Donna) Hanley, Clifford (Ella Mae) Hanley and Carl (Gloria) Hanley; one sister, Beryl (Caulder) Huckins; countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, Hilda (Matheson) Hanley, Ronald was predeceased by one great-grandson, Cameron Matherson; and by his brothers, Delton, Harold, William, Royce and Garry.

A carpenter by trade, Ronald helped build the Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay and with the help of his brothers, also built many homes in the local area. He also worked in the construction of Point Lepreau. A true man of God, Ronald loved his Lord and Savior and loved attending church to worship Him. Ronald wanted nothing more than to be by the side of his beloved wife, Hilda, and while we are sad to see him go, we take comfort in knowing they are together again.

The family would like to thank the staff at Passamaquoddy Lodge for being so kind to him and Hilda over the last few years.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. In keeping with Ronald’s wishes, there will be no visiting. A graveside service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at the St. George Rural Cemetery, St. George NB with Rev. Paul Legere officiating. In Ronald’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
