Evelyn Myrna Bradford
1942-2024
The passing of Mrs. Evelyn Myrna (MacDougall) Bradford, wife of the late Donald E. Bradford of Utopia NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 29, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Born at Blacks Harbour NB on January 5, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Issabelle L. (McGarrigle) MacDougall. A loving mother , grandmother, sister and aunt, she is survived by her daughters: Wendy Bradford of Saint John NB and Necole (Cory) Leavitt of Beaver Harbour NB, her sons: Wayne Bradford of Kitchener ON, Shawn (Carla) Bradford of Breadlebane NB and Scott (Simone) Bradford of Fredericton NB, her daughter in law; Jo-Ann (late Dana) Bradford of Oromocto NB, 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, her brother; Paul (Faith) MacDougall of St. George NB as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins, including her special niece; Rose Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Donnie, her son Dana as well as her many brothers and sisters.
Prior to her retirement, Evelyn worked for various employers including Connors Brothers in Blacks Harbour and Kindred Home Care, finally retiring from Fundy Hospital. Her and her beloved Donnie spent their retirement years travelling and enjoying their beautiful family until Donnies passing in 2023. Evelyn will be remembered as a sweet, kind, caring and a Godly Woman with a huge love for her family as well as her faith and unwavering love for her Lord. Her advice was always about keeping your faith, always pray and God is good.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the palliative care unit at the SJRH for their kind and compassionate care shown to Evelyn as well as the family during the time she was there as well as Evelyns niece, Rose for her love shown to mom.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George Street, N.B (755-3533) with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. The service will be held on Monday at 2pm from Gateway Cathedral with Pastor Gordon Walsh officiating followed by a reception at the church. Interment will be held in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery at 5pm. In Evelyn’s memory donations to a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family
