Jean Irene Wright

The passing of Jean "Irene"(Thompson) Wright, wife of the late Phillp Wright, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital Saturday August 10, 2024 after a period of failing health. Born at Blacks Harbour NB on November 29, 1940. She was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Bernice I. (Sheppard) Thompson.

A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by: two sons; David (Joy) Wright of Toronto ON, Duane Wright of Calgary AB and her son in law Mike Allen of Quispamsis NB, her Grandchildren: Phillip, Cara, Arletta and Crystal, her Great Grandchildren: Graceyn, Zayla and Natisha, her brother Gerald (Edith) Thompson of St George, her Sisters: Cheryl Thompson (Shipley) of Cody’s NB, Joanne Thompson (Mike) Of Saint John NB as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Andrea Oliver and her sister Ellen Isherwood

In early years Irene left New Brunswick with her husband Phillip only to return in 1974 with her new family. Both her and Phillip purchased the Mclean Estate in Blacks Harbour to begin a new business "The Wright’s Guest Home" and later the "Wright Place". Irene also worked as an administrative assistant for the Village of Blacks Harbour until her retirement. She was also a gifted seamstress as well as a wonderful baker. She also loved to travel and socialize with her many friends and acquaintances. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Where visitation will be held on Friday from 10am until service time at 2pm.
