Noel Quevedo Gainza
1941-2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Noel Quevedo Gainza, beloved husband to Teresa "Flower" A (Thomas) Gainza, who passed away at the Saint John Regional hospital, Saint John NB with his loving Flower, as well as his closest and dearest friends by his side.
Born in Cuba on August 23, 1941 he was a son of the late Hill and Amelia (Quendo) Gainza. He is survived by his wife Teresa of L’Etang NB as well as his three children of his first family in Cuba, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 10 children who he never got to meet due to medical reasons.
Noel loved kids and although unable to be with his, he enjoyed spending time with children and especially the children of his close friends. He loved to spoil them, laugh with them and loved to tell funny stories and act them out, but only the ones that happened to him. He loved animals especially his five cats and two dogs.
Noel loved to work and was a very hard worker. He had many jobs in his life but none meant more to him than his job at Cooke Aquaculture. He loved his co workers and when he would see his late friend Gifford Cooke, his eyes would light up with joy as he and Gifford would spend time together and share stories.
Noel also loved to go to church and could often see him waving his hands as he phrased his "King of Kings". He also loved his church family at Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay and had fond memories of his former church family at the Family Worship Center.
In keeping with Noel’s wishes there will be no visitation, a graveside service will be held at the St. George Rural Cemetery on Friday at 3:30pm with Pastor Paul Legere officiating. Followed by a reception at the Sea View Full Gospel Church, where if anybody wishes to come and share a story and memories of Noel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sea View Full Gospel Church Sunday School Fund would be appreciated by the family.
