Joseph Daniel "Dan" Mullins
1954-2024
We cannot find words to describe the absolute devastation we are feeling in having to announce the loss of our family's foundation, Joseph Daniel "Dan" Mullins.
As much as he loved the outdoors, fishing on his boat, camping with friends, or working on his garden, his love for his wife, kids and grandkids superseded any of those beyond measure. From the day he fell in love with his one and only, his family became his priority and it still showed true in every single choice he made throughout the entire rest of his life. His love for his family was selfless and endless.
Before his retirement Dan worked many trades but, primarily in carpentry and scaffolding at the refinery. A member of local 1386, he made many friends and his brothers continued to offer support through his illness.
Predeceased by many angels who have gone on before him, Dan is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 wonderful years, Janice Mae (Munn) Mullins. His 3 children who loved him dearly, Lisa (Duane) Buchanan, Matthew (Tanya) Mullins, and Emily Ann Mullins. His absolute pride and joy grandchildren Danni (Kyle) Moffatt, Dylan Buchanan, Xavier Mullins and Taylor Mullins. His brothers and sisters Delphine Ford, Isabelle Savoy, Francis 'Sonny' (Viola) Mullins, Charlie (Susan) Mullins, Marie (Rickard) Clowater, his brother, with whom he shared a very special bond, Jerry (Elizabeth) Mullins and his adopted granddaughter Abby Lockhart.
An honorable, kind, generous, loving and loyal partner, the best dad anyone could ever ask for and a wonderful pa to his grandkids. He loved everyone one of us more than he loved himself, including little miss great grandbaby to be; who he wanted so badly to meet. He will forever be missed by his family, his friends and anyone else who had the opportunity to know and love him.
Our family would like to make special mention of his extramural nursing staff, especially of Alexis who became more like family to us. We are absolutely grateful for all you have done and continue to do for our family.
Forever in our hearts.
