Pauline Marie Harris

The passing of Pauline Marie Harris of Blacks Harbour NB, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on July 11, 2024 with her family by her side. Born in Berwick NS on October 3, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Gorman and Helen (Ward) Aker.

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and aunt, Pauline is survived by her children, Terry (Melinda) Harris of Canal NB, Diane (Burt) Young of St. Stephen NB, Helen Harris of St. Stephen NB, Barb (Frank) Richard of Blacks Harbour NB and Donna (Robert) Beach of St. Stephen NB; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Sheldon Vance Harris; a daughter in infancy, Gail Marie Harris; and sisters, Joyce Matheson and Doreen Cook.

Prior to her children, Pauline once worked for Connors Brothers in Blacks Harbour for a short time. Once she and Sheldon began their family, she became a homemaker and worked hard to raise her children. Pauline loved to have fun and remained active through her years. She loved Bingo, bowling, shopping, playing cards and especially dancing. On Sunday’s she could often be found at the pick and jam at the Stella Maris Hall where she loved being in the company of not only her family but many friends. When able, she enjoyed going out with her sister, Joyce, looking for yard sales or running the roads of Blacks Harbour in her chair. Most of all, Pauline loved her family and her face always lit up when her grandchildren were near. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date. In Pauline’s memory, donations to the MS Society or to Charlotte County Cancer would be appreciated by the family.
