Deborah "Debbie" Louise McGarrigle

The passing of Deborah "Debbie" Louise (Shaw) McGarrigle, wife of George B. McGarrigle of Pennfield NB occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on May 4, 2024. Born at Blacks Harbour NB on November 23,1953, she was a daughter of the late Cedric H. and June M. (Fiander) Shaw.

A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister Debbie is survived by her loving husband George; son Brent (Lori) McGarrigle of Saint John NB; daughter Alisha McGarrigle of Pennfield; granddaughter Hillary Hooper; two great grandchildren: Vera and Nora; Sister; Vicki (Raymond) Hall of St. George NB; brother; Brian (Bonnie) Shaw of Lepreau: sister-in-law; Seretha McGarrigle; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a nephew; Troy McGarrigle.

Prior to retirement, Debbie worked for 40 years as a labourer with Connors Brothers, retiring from the S.A. P. Line. She loved her family dearly and found great joy in writing notes for everyone and making sure everyone kept their appointments and knew where they had to be. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family as well as traveling around with George. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Visitation will be held from the St. George Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 12-2 pm, with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. In Debbie's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
