Albert Leo Camick

The passing of Albert Leo Camick, husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (Hanley) Camick of Fairhaven NB, occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on May 4, 2024. Born in Lords Cove NB on December 29, 1932, he was a son of the late Clifford and Melissa (Smith) Camick. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife of over 62 years, Betty, Albert is survived by his three daughters: Irene (Barry) of Fairhaven NB, Wendy (Paul) of St. George NB and Janie (Ken) also of St. George NB; grandchildren: Calvin (Amanda), Jennifer (Bruce), Melissa (Stuart), Steven (Jessica), Haley "Parker" (Alex), Jessie and Tanner; several great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Burnside and Margaret Richardson; and many cousins. Besides his parents, Albert was predeceased by his grandson: Tony.

Prior to retirement, Albert was a Ranger with the Department of Natural Resources and also was a Weir Fisherman. A very active and well-known member of his community, Albert was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge # 55 Abnaki in Lords Cove, was a Deacon of the Fairhaven Baptist Church, volunteered with the St. John Ambulance and was once a leader with the Boy Scouts of Canada. He was a true family man who loved to be at home with his family and wife. When able, he enjoyed being on the water or tinkering in his vegetable garden. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and many in the community.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. The service will be held from the Fairhaven Baptist Church, Fairhaven NB on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Michael Smith officiating, followed by the interment at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery. In Albert’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
