Cory Lawrence Leavitt

1969-2024

Cory Lawrence Leavitt

The passing of Cory Lawrence Leavitt occurred unexpectedly in Saint John NB on April 12, 2024. Born in Blacks Harbour NB on May 5, 1969, he was the son of the late Vance and Joan (Stewart) Leavitt.

Cory will be lovingly remembered by his siblings: Kathy Leavitt (Burton Cooke) of Beaver Harbour NB, Kevin (Laura) Leavitt of Pennfield NB and Karen Kernighan (Brian Noddin) of Blacks Harbour NB; two nephews: Derek Leavitt of Pennfield NB and Devin Leavitt (Brandy Seeley) of St. Stephen NB; one niece: Amanda Kernighan (Josh Pitre) of Moores Mills NB; and countless cousins. In addition to his parents, Cory was predeceased by one nephew: Jason Kernighan.

A jack of all trades, Cory worked in several industries in the local area before moving to Saint John. He was a kind, funny and generous soul who would be the first to step in and help someone in need. Known for his sense of humor, Cory wasn’t Cory unless he was nagging or teasing you and he always had his family laughing and smiling at gatherings. Cory also had a love for music and could often be found with a guitar in hand.
