Robert "Robbie" Sharpe

1963-2024

Robert "Robbie" Sharpe

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Robert "Robbie" Sharpe of Beaver Harbour NB at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on January 12, 2024 at the age of 60. Born on May 27, 1963, he was the son of the late Cyril and Belle Sharpe.

Robbie leaves behind his beloved daughter, Stephanie Sharpe (Kyle Hachey) of Beaver Harbour NB; his daughter of the heart, Jodie Ainsworth of St. Stephen NB; his treasured grandchildren, Jace, Blaire, Piper, Breann, Jayden and Kendra, as well as all the others who claimed him as "Poppy." He also leaves to mourn his sisters, Sandra (Lorne), Kim (Will), Eleanor, Vera-Joy (Lindy) and Dulcie (Glen); his brothers, Wilson (late Joan), Eric (Joanne), Ross (Janice), Roland (Carol), Freeman (Bev) and Jeff (Rosann); the mother of his daughter, Juanita Sharpe, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Robbie was predeceased by his siblings, Laura and Eugene.

Robbie was born and raised in Harry’s Harbour, NL, the perfect playground for a child with Robbie’s energy and sense of adventure. There was not a cliff or wall that Robbie could not scale, not a beach or inlet he hadn’t explored or a pond he hadn’t fished. He was a proud Newfoundlander and even after leaving his community to find work, he always found his way back home when he could.

Upon moving to the local area many years ago, Robbie began working for Cookes Aquaculture where he remained until his passing. Known as "Notso" by most of his co-workers, his sense of humor was loved by all and will be truly missed by the friends he made along the way.

Robbie’s greatest love was for family. He was very close to all his siblings and extended family and kept in touch weekly. Stephanie and the grandchildren were his world and though he left us too soon, we are comforted knowing that he was surrounded by so much love and caring in his final years.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the funeral home with visiting on Wednesday from 6-8 pm. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. In Robbie’s memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
