Phyllis Elaine Cooke
1936-2023
The passing of Phyllis Elaine Cooke, beloved wife of the late Hugh H. Cooke, Of Back Bay NB, occurred at her residence on December 22, 2023. Born in Back Bay on April 28,1936, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Laversa (French) Cooke.
A loving mother, grandmother, and aunt, she is survived by her son Franklin (Penny) Cooke of Back Bay NB, her loving daughters: VickyLynn (Eric) Cooke of Back Bay, and Starr (Mike) Cooke of Mascarene NB; daughter in law Nancy Cooke of Bocabec NB; grandchildren: Carson (Faith) Cooke of St. George NB, Rodney (Samantha) Cooke of Bocabec NB, Nickilee (Jonathan) Cooper of Letang NB, Brett (Sylvia) Cooke of Utopia NB, Bethany Cooke (Tim Stevens) Of Mascarene NB; greatgrandchildren: Cameron, Cadence, Chase, Clara, Noah, Ryder, Taylor Lynn, Luca, Lincoln, Stella, Evan, Julianna, and Jamie, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Hugh, two sons: Ritchie and Jamie; her daughter Hope; granddaughter Candy Jill and daughter in law Kelly (Simpson) Cooke; brothers: Hollis, Horace, Carson, and Berlin Cooke.
Phyllis walked arm in arm into the gates of heaven, with her cousin, and lifelong best friend by her side, Faye Leslie, who passed on the same morning.
In her earlier years Phyllis worked Connor’s Brothers in Back Bay. She then took on the task of homemaker and raising her beloved family and running the household. When able she loved knitting as well as doing word search puzzles. A big part of her life was church and her Bible, as well as spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and all that knew her.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and thanks to: Charlotte County Extra Mural, Doctor Vance Anderson and Doctor Christian Mackin, Pastor Paul Legere, Sarah Polley and niece Wendy Cleghorn for their kind and compassionate care, as well as the love and affection shown to Phyllis and her family during her illness. An extra special thank you to granddaughter Nickilee for her care to her grandmother in her final days.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. In keeping with Phyllis’ wishes there will be no visitation. A service will be held from the Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 2 PM with Rev. Randy Crozier officiating. Interment will be held in the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Phyllis' memory, donations to Charlotte County Christian Academy would be appreciated by the family.
