Jake Earle Wayne MacKay

The passing of Jake Earle Wayne MacKay occurred at the Dr. Everrett Chalmers Hospital at Fredericton NB, on November 24, 2023. Born at Saint John NB, on September 1,1999, he was the son of  Curtis Wayne Joseph MacKay and M. Nadine Leslie.  

 A loving son, brother, grandson, cousin Jake is survived by his loving parents Curtis and Nadine, his sister: Jodie Leslie (Shane McGuire) of Pennfield NB; maternal grandmother, Brenda Cooke (John) of Lord’s Cove NB; paternal grandmother Gail Mackay of Leonardville, NB; two aunts: Serena (Derek) Bradford of Harvey NB, And Nicole (Dwayne) Richardson of Lambertville NB; his uncle Nathan (Aurea) Leslie of Lord’s Cove NB; cousins Elizabeth and Issac MacLean, Emma and Ben Bradford, Kieran and Ethan Leslie, Maxwell and Cole Richardson. Jake was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Cutrtis MacKay; and by his maternal grandfather, Earle Leslie.

Jake was a graduate of Fundy Middle and High School class of 2017. He was employed at Cooke Aquaculture, as an Aquaculture Technician. Jake was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as four wheeling and biking. He was also a dedicated video gamer. Jake had a kind heart and loved animals. His kind and gentle personality will be sadly missed by his loving family and all who knew him.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Leonardville church of Christ with visiting on Sunday, November 26,from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Due to disruption with the ferry service, the service for Jake will be delayed. It will be held as soon as ferry operations are reinstaed. With Rev. Glenn Cox officiating, followed by interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. In Jake’s memory, donations to the New Brunswick Mental Health Association or a charity of the donor’s choice would by appreciated by the family.
