Dana Arnold Kinney

The unexpected passing of Dana Arnold Kinney of L’Etete NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 11, 2023. Born at Blacks Harbour NB on April 29, 1960, he was a son of the late Arnold and Mary "Bunnie" (Matthews) Kinney.

A loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin, he is survived by his children: Ashley (Dominique) Sacco and Dana James Kinney both of MA, sisters: Ellen (James) Crowley of Baring ME, Ann Kinney (John Brownrigg) of Chamcook NB, Sarah (Kenny) Kilbride of Calais ME and Diane Comeau of Lynn MA as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Daniel.

 

Dana began his working career by serving four years with the American Navy as a Radar/Sonar Tech. as well as Weapons Guidance systems. Following his naval career, Dana continued his calling to  water by fishing and then going to work for Irving as a deckhand. He was always up for doing anything and there for everyone. He loved the outdoors, especially on the water fishing.

 

Dana was an avid sports fan, loving all sports, especially anything Boston or Massachusetts based, Red Sox, Bruins and especially Patriots etc. Dana was also a member of both the American and Royal Canadian Legion. He also enjoyed spending time with and enjoying family, whether informal visits or large family gatherings, he loved being with everyone. He will be sadly missed.

    

In keeping with his wishes there will be no visiting. A graveside service will be held at the St. George Rural Cemetery on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 2pm with Conrad Cline officiating. In Dana’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family
