Richard "Dick" Philip Connell

The passing of Richard "Dick" Philip Connell of Pennfield NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on October 2, 2023. Born on Prince Edward Island on March 9, 1943, he was a son of the late Raymond and Hilda (Clements) Connell. A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Dick is survived by his children: Cynthia (Daniel) Breen of New Hampshire, Lisa (Randy) Garnett of Alberta and Jonathan Connell of Pennfield NB; four grandchildren: Andrew, Geoffrey, Katelyn and Brandon; two great-grandchildren; siblings: David (Daralyn) Connell, Janice (Frank) Carr and Jean Daigle all of Saint John NB; sister-in-law: Judy Connell of Saint John NB; special friend: Myrna Ross of Beaver Harbour NB; the mother of his children: Barbara Connell of St. George NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by one brother: Wayne Connell; and by one sister: Judith Connell.

Prior to retirement, Dick worked as a welder with Local # 213. He truly had a zest for life and enjoyed living life to its fullest. Both a snow mobile and motorcycle enthusiast, he was once a member of the Harley Owners Chapter of Saint John and enjoyed being out on the open road any chance he had. In the mornings, Dick could often be found at Uncle Maynes with the "coffee club," catching up on recent events and the local news. In his quiet time he enjoyed spending time with his family or fishing. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

A celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Saturday, October 7th, 2023 from 2-5 pm at the St. George Masonic Hall, 2 Carleton Street, St. George NB.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
