Emery Joseph Comeau
1940-2023

The passing of Emery Joseph Comeau, husband of Anne Marie Comeau of Pennfield NB occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on September 9, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Rogersville NB on October 28, 1940, he was a son of the late Levi and Annette (Chevarie) Comeau. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Anne Marie, Emery is survived by three sons: Gerard Comeau (Susan Munn) of Pennfield NB, Claude Comeau (Krista) of Lepreau NB and Daniel Comeau (Tammi) of Alberta; one daughter: Sandra Comeau (Pedro Garcia) of Pennfield NB; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchilden; one great-great-grandson; his siblings: Roger Comeau of Pennfield NB and Marguerite Cormier of St. Charles NB; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Emery was predeceased by one son: Norman; brothers: Aurele, Zoel, Isodore and Joseph; and sisters: Theresa Deveau and Cecilia Patriquin.
Prior to retirement, Emery worked as a carpenter for Local #1386. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and especially camping at the lake with his family and friends. He had a passion for music and dancing and could often be found with a guitar in hand picking away. A jokester, Emery had a sense of humor that everyone loved, and he was sure to make you smile any chance he could. His greatest love of all truly was his family, especially his grandchildren, and he looked forward to spending as much time with them as he could. His love, sense of humor and devotion to his family will be greatly missed.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the funeral home with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Stella Maris Catholic Church, Blacks Harbour NB on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Father Rolando Suplido officiating followed by the interment in the parish cemetery. In Emery’s memory, donations to the Diabetes Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
