Mary Evelyn Theriault
1941-2023
The family of Evelyn Marie Theriault are saddened to announce the passing of our mother on September 6, 2023, at the Passamaquoddy Lodge in St. Andrews, NB at the age of 82 with her family by her side.
She was born on February 2, 1941 in Saulnierville Station, NS to the late Simeon and Eugenie (Comeau) Belliveau. She was the youngest of eleven children. She moved to New Brunswick at an early age and started her 50+ year career at the Blacks Harbour Hospital and Fundy Hospital on the housekeeping staff and ending her career as Manager of Housekeeping.
She enjoyed many years volunteering on the Blacks Harbour Ambulance and Blacks Harbour and Pennfield Fire Departments and was a member of the Charlotte County Lioness as well as the Charlotte County Kiwanis.
She had a passion for baking and always loved making special desserts for family and friends. During the summer months she could be found tending to her lovely flower gardens and mowing her grass or raking leaves.
She is survived by her children Rose (Dennis) Boudreau, Concession, NS, Darlene (Doug) Holland, Fredericton, NB, Dianne (Joseph) Mahoney, Saint John, Micheal (Racheal) Theriault, St. Stephen, NB and sister Yvonne Gaudet, Hansport, NS. She is also survived by eight grandchildren Mandy (Terry), Jane, Stephen (Jenna), Josh (Mary Beth), Kristopher (Alene), Katie (Brandon), Jessica (Harry) and Meaghan, five great-grandchildren Blake, Theo, Paisley, Evelyn and Wynslow and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Stephen Scott and Dennis Theriault, her sisters Obeline, Marguerite, Katherine, Alda and Cecile and brothers Arcade, Basile, Emile, Eddie and Victor nephew/brother.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no viewing. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 11:00 am, at the Stella Maris Catholic Church in Blacks Harbour, NB with Father Rolando Suplido officiating. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Passamaquoddy Lodge for the excellent care and compassion they gave to our mother.
