Clifford "Mark" Simpson

1961-2023

Clifford "Mark" Simpson

The passing of Clifford "Mark" Simpson of Chamcook NB and formerly of St. George NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on August 31, 2023 with his family at his side. Born in St. Stephen NB on May 13, 1961, he was the son of Doris (Dunbar) Simpson and the late William "Leigh" Simpson.

A loving, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and partner, Mark is survived by his daughters: Ashley (Jeremy) Brown of Bethel NB and Haley Simpson (Aaron Blakely) of Saint John NB; one grandson: Luke Brown; his mother, Doris Simpson of St. George NB; one sister: Marsha Taylor of St. George NB; nephews: Clifford Taylor (Martina Rideout) of Canal NB and Ben Taylor (Kristin Butler) of Breadalbane NB; his partner: DeeDee Dougherty of Chamcook NB; and many cousins.

A welder by trade, Mark worked as a machinist for many years. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and being out on the saltwater fishing. A true family man, Mark loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Be it hunting with the boys or visiting with his daughters and grandson, Mark loved being in the company of those he loved. A total green thumb, he tended to his garden every year and canned hundreds of pounds of beets and pickles for all his family and friends. In his quiet time, Mark enjoyed feeding the birds and especially loved watching the Cardinals. His love and devotion to his family will be sadly missed.
