Zelda Marie Thomas

1939-2023

Zelda Marie Thomas

It is with great sadness that we announce that Zelda Marie (Graham) Thomas passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on April 21, 2023.

She is predeceased by her husband Allison Thomas, of 55 years, who passed away just seven days before her; her parents, Cecil Graham and Fannie (Watt) Graham; her brother, Lyle Graham all of Grand Manan NB; also her in-laws, Marie Thomas, Pauline Lee (Chett), Maudie French (Robert) and Harold and Jack Mersereau.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marjorie (Graham) Davidson; niece, Lianne (late Rex) Harris; nephew, Jody (Michele) Graham; great nieces and nephews, Dalton Harris (Jessie), Ashley Harris (Pat), Ethen Graham (Danielle) and Megen Graham (Brady); also great-great- nieces and nephews along with in-law family, Margaret Mersereau, Aleta Hayden and Walter Mersereau.

Zelda worked many years in the "old nursing home" kitchen on Grand Manan. She would cook awesome meals for residents and staff with a smile on her face. When not working she might be found cooking in her own kitchen, working in her garden or doing a puzzle in the living room. She also enjoyed going for a walk with a friend and her dog, Jake. Wintertime she couldn’t wait to go skating up on the pond at the "old airport". Zelda always was very active and was always helping others out if needed. She had many friends and enjoyed spending time with each and every one. Zelda spent countless hours painting plywood elves, reindeer and much more just to put on the front lawn for others to enjoy. When you went for a drive up their way in December you could feel the "Christmas Love" coming from her and Allison’s front lawn. Everything lit up, blow up Santa’s etc., plus everything else shows you what love for others meant. Nobody ever went without. So many memories, so much love. Always remembered, always missed.

In keeping with Zelda’s wishes, there will be no visiting or service. In her memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
