Charlotte Eva Richardson

1925-2023

Charlotte Eva Richardson

Charlotte Eva (Mitchell) Richardson of Lambert’s Cove, Deer Island, wife of the late George D. Richardson, passed away at home on April 14, 2023. She was born May 17, 1925 in Eastport, Maine, home of the nearest hospital at the time. She was the eldest child and last surviving member of the family of Myrtle (Stuart) Mitchell and Frank Mitchell.

She married George on March 28, 1945, just weeks before the end of World War II. They were married for nearly 68 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frank (1950), and Myrtle (1972), as well as her siblings "Tistie" (2000), "Buddy" (2016), James (2002) and an infant sister, Minnie (1932). Additionally, she was predeceased by her husband George (2013) and her elder son Mark, (1992).

She is survived by her caregiver and son Paul, at home, a sister-in-law, two cousins, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In spite of how difficult this time is for many of us we need an opportunity as time permits to share our sorrow and support with others. It has been wisely said that friendship is mathematical, it multiplies joys and divides sorrows. It also endures through difficult times such as these. To deny a time of public gathering to honour Charlotte and to share moments of laughter and tears is similar to denying that she ever existed. Our memories of her tell each of us otherwise. Therefore, there will be a public committal service at Fairhaven Community Cemetery, Calder’s Head, on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 2:00 pm with a luncheon following at the Lambert’s Cove Baptist Church.

Charlotte was quick to speak of her appreciation of the kind, loving, professional care she received over the years from so many of the nurses associated with the St. George Extra Mural Office. Additional praise is deserved for the years of support she received from Robyn, Sharon, Wendy and Trish at the Guardian Drug, as well as Kathy of Home Support. Also, special thanks go to Dale and Lois, Sandra and Donnie and Cam for their compassion that they showed with their frequent calls, visits and assistance.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. In Charlotte’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
