June Adelvia McClanaghan

The passing of June Adelvia McClanaghan (nee Leavitt) occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital on March 12, 2023.  Born in L’Etete NB on February 6, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Leola (Leslie) Leavitt.

A loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, June is survived by her daughters:  Lynn (Alan) Woodworth of Digdeguash and Lori (Duane) Glimsdale of Alberta; grandchildren:  Kyle Wright of Blacks Harbour NB, Kristopher (Valerie) Wright of Canal NB, Ryan (Chanel Eger) French of Canmore Alberta and Brayden (Emily Venema) French of Oromocto NB; great-grandchildren:  Garrett and Korrie Wright; sister:  Eileen (James) Eldridge of Florida; and brother:  Edgar Leavitt of Saint John NB, many cousins, nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 65 years, Charles McClanaghan.

Prior to her retirement, June worked for Billiton Canada (Mount Pleasant Tungsten Mine) as the Office Manager and held Executive Assistant positions with Larsen Law firm, Irving Pulp and Paper Mill, and before returning to NB from Brantford Ontario, she worked for Canadian Red Cross and Holstein Canada.  Prior to moving to Ontario, she worked for Connors Bros and was a business graduate from Moncton College.

June was a quiet woman who loved God and her family and lived a life full of the fruits of the spirit, Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control.  She loved to play card games with friends, would do puzzles for hours.  Her and Charlie loved to travel.  She would read a lot and she was known for crocheting many beautiful baby sweater sets and making quilts.  In the early years, her and Charlie spent many weekends at their McDougall camp, which was her happy place, and was spent with many friends / family all bunked in with many laughs and good times and many miles was put on the four-wheeler.  She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the staff of Lincourt Manor for taking such great care of June while she was a resident there.

Resting at the Sea View Full Gospel Church on Saturday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.  The service will be held on Sunday at 2 pm at Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay, NB with Rev. Jr Gordon Cooke and Rev. Randy Crozier officiating.  The interment will take place in the St. George Cemetery in the early spring.  Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home.  In June’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
