Marilyn Louise Lewis
1960-2023
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Marilyn Louise Lewis on January 17, 2023, peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John NB with family by her side. After a short battle with cancer, we now take comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace.
Marilyn is survived by her loving and devoted husband Raymond Lewis of 44 years. She is also survived by daughter Virginia Lynn Lewis of Calgary AB; her brother: Doran Hooper (Anne) of St. Stephen NB; sisters Dorothy Wilcox (Roland) of Bocabec NB, Deborah Larson (Guy) of Calgary AB and Shirley Waite (Wayne) of Pennfield NB; sisters-in-law: Kathy Hennessey (Arther) of Blacks Harbour NB and Cindy Lewis of Ottawa ON; brother-in-law: Greg Lewis (Candice) of Winnipeg MB; and by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her fur babies, Blue and Ginger.
Marilyn was sadly predeceased by infant daughter Caitlin Louise (1987), her father Albert Hooper, her mother Mildred (Miner) Hooper and by her mother and father-in-law Mid (Hill) Lewis and Robert "Bob" Lewis.
If there is anything we have learned from Marilyn, it would be her incredible work ethic. Having been employed with Connor’s Bros. (now Trivium) for 43 years. Marilyn worked everyday until her diagnosis. Her only wish was to get better so she could return to her job.
Marilyn had several passions; one being her time spent with Ray on their motorcycle/trike where they travelled locally and treasured their many trips abroad. In her downtime you could find Marilyn speed walking or shopping at her favourite thrift store, Frenchy’s. Marilyn had a talent that everyone admired for finding designer clothes that allowed her to express her unique individual style.
Marilyn’s family would like to express their gratitude to the Cooke family, Bobby’s Hospice, Charlotte County Cancer and Extra Mural for their exceptional care and compassion during this time of sorrow.
In Marilyn’s memory, donations made to Bobby’s Hospice, Charlotte County Cancer or the IWK Children’s Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
