Joyce Campbell Justason

1932-2022

Joyce Campbell Justason

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our Aunt, Joyce Campbell Justason at her residence at Ridgeview Manor with her niece by her side. Joyce was a devout Christian and has gone to meet her Lord. Joyce was the daughter of Herbert Owen Parks and Thelma Madge Andrews. She was the second youngest member of her family. She was the last surviving child. Aside from her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband: Clarence Justason and siblings: Lawrence Parks, Philip Parks, Arthur Parks, Ralph Parks, Beryl Kline, Noreen Jordan and Elizabeth Clarke. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was especially fond of Lucy, Simon, Eve, Catherine, Taylor, Curtis and Alexander.

Joyce was born on April 2, 1932 in St. George where she attended high school. She worked all of her working career as a clerk in local stores so she was well known to the residents of St. George and surrounding areas. She was a member of the St. George Baptist Church and later, after her marriage, became a member of the Pennfield Baptist Church. She also enjoyed curling at the St. George Curling Club.

Joyce was the happiest during her marriage to Clarence. She always spoke of him with love and told everyone what a good husband he was. She was devastated when he was taken from her after such a short time together. She will be fondly remembered by her friends, family and co-workers for her strength of character, kindness and generosity. Also her knitted dishcloths.

Many thanks to the staff and residents at Ridgeview Manor who became her second family. They took extraordinary efforts for her care, especially during her final days. We also express our thank you to the amazing nurses at Extra Mural in St. George who were there every day to help with her care and support us.

Joyce loved the Lord and was always remembering friends and relatives in her prayers.
