James Alexander Mahar
1960-2022
The passing of James Alexander Mahar of St. George NB occurred unexpectedly at Canal NB on December 9, 2022. Born on July 10, 1960, he was a son of the late Henry T. "Skip" and Shirley M. (Simpson) Mahar. He is survived by his two daughters: Samantha Mahar (Kristina Pitts) of Herring Cove, NS and Natasha Mahar (Joseph Legacy) of Elmsville, NB; one son: Cody Babineau of Utopia, NB; siblings: Julie of Edmonton, NB, Andrew (Nancy) of St. George, NB and Mary of Saint John, NB. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by one brother: Henry "Mickey" Mahar.
In James' early years, he worked as a mechanic which became a
big hobby of his, especially while working on his Trans Am which was
his favourite car. He loved watching drag races and would even race
his own Chevy van on the Pennfield drag strip. He was a jack of all
trades and could always been found working on any car. James enjoyed
cooking and bicycling around town. He was a very stubborn man but he
loved telling jokes and making people laugh. In recent years, James'
favourite hobby would be sitting on his deck watching the cars go by
with an Alpine in his hand. He was a loving son, father and brother
and will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
