Elizabeth Rose Ingalls

1937-2022

Elizabeth Rose Ingalls

INGALLS, ELIZABETH ROSE; 85; of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island, N.B. passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home on Thursday morning, November 10, 2022 with her daughter by her side. Born in Woodward’s Cove, NB; she was the daughter of the late Valore (Lambert) and Robert J. Ellis of Woodwards Cove, N.B.

She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church; and member of the St. Paul’s A.C.W. Also, she was a member of the Pythian Sisters, Southern Cross Lodge # 16.

Elizabeth could certainly be considered a pioneer in the "work from home" field. Liz conducted her behind the scenes management of the family fishing business by telephone, juggling baking & church activities, all while tending a very active Rebecca. Over the years, Elizabeth’s voice was well known contributor to the VHF radio. During the 1960’s, 70’s, 80’s, Liz knew where every purse seine boat in the Bay of Fundy was, pretty much at all times during seining season.

Elizabeth’s kitchen talents were well known. Liz spent many of her days & nights, by baking large quantities of baked goodies, preserves and decorating cakes, as well as, cooking & hosting large meals for family, friends and helping with multiple church functions over the years. "Auntie" Elizabeth never missed a family birthday, or any other special occasion and thought very highly, proudly of her grandsons, nieces & nephews. Her table was was a mecca for friends and family from away…

Elizabeth’s last few years were spent at the Grand Manan Nursing Home. Special thanks to the entire staff of the nursing home for extending EXTRA above & beyond LOVE, special care and wonderful treatment of ‘Lizzo’. Your kindnesses and understanding will not be forgotten.

Survived by only daughter; Rebecca Ingalls-Fleet of Grand Harbour; grandsons, Clein Fleet and Colby Fleet; brothers, Perry Ellis (Donna) of Woodwards Cove, Robert Ellis (Paulette) of Miramichi, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack Robert Ingalls; infant son, Turner Ingalls; sisters, Anna Hillman and Sandra Taylor.

Visitation will take place from St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Tuesday, November 15th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Lay reader, Yvonne Park, officiating the service, and sermon delivered by family friend, Karl Ingersoll.
