Carolyn Rose McGuigan

Carolyn Rose (Thorne) McGuigan, born August 28, 1944 in Canal NB, the daughter of the late Eldon and Vernnie (Cameron) Thorne, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on November 10, 2022.

Carolyn is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Jack McGuigan. Carolyn is also survived by her sons: Kevin McGuigan and Stephen (Lorraine) McGuigan; grandchildren: Daniel (Jen) Murray, Karisa Allen, Kaitlyn (Kyle) Stewart, Nicholas McGuigan and Joseph McGuigan; her great-grandchildren: Garrett, Makenna, Jordynn, Madilynn and Kylie Murray, Ryanne and Harleigh Allen, Hunter McGuigan and Alex Stewart; sisters: Nita Morehouse, Leona Greencorn, Patsey Banks and Ruth (Alan) McMillan; brothers: Clair Thorne and Clyde (Anna) Thorne; brother-in-law: Earl (Cynthia) McGuigan; sister-in-law: Cathy Pickard; her best side kick and camping buddy: Margaret Banks; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carolyn was sadly predeceased by her two sons: Darren and David; and by one grandson: Stephen Kyle McGuigan.

Carolyn worked various jobs over the years but what she truly loved most was helping people when she could. She used to volunteer at the food bank, helped with the seniors teas and many other church functions. She had the ability to make friends wherever she went and enjoyed talking to those she met along the way. Her kind heart and friendly smile will be missed by all who knew her. 

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the funeral home with visiting on Tuesday from 6-9 pm. The service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating, followed by the interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Carolyn's memory, donations to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews or to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
