Eudora Ellison Hatt
1928-2022

The passing of Eudora Ellison (Justason) Hatt, wife of the late Harley Hatt, occurred peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on November 9, 2022 with her family at her side. Born in Pennfield NB on January 16, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Chandler and Mabel (Holmes) Justason. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Eudora is survived by her children: Larry (Bertha) Hatt of Fredericton NB, Laurel (Edward) Phillips of Hampton NB, Gregory (Barbara) Hatt of New River NB and Timothy (Wanda) Hatt of Pennfield NB; nine grandchildren: Kevin (Jane), Christopher (Natalie), Kara (Don), Heather, Matthew (Tricia), Nick (Christine), Christie (Tyler), Adam (Cara) and Abraham; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Noni Hatt of St. Andrews NB; one niece: Cindy Cleary of New York; one cousin: Joan Wallace; and her special childhood friend: Mary Vickers, who is the last of the "Pennfield Girls".
In addition to her parents and her husband, Eudora was predeceased by her brother: Aubrey Justason.
Prior to retirement, Eudora worked for Connors Brothers for several years before going to the Fundy Hospital, where she was employed as a receptionist. She was an avid homemaker who loved baking and sharing her baked goods with loved ones. Eudora will always be fondly remembered as an amazing caregiver for both her family and friends. She was a long time member of the Pennfield Baptist Church where she volunteered for many church functions. Family and church truly were her life. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Fundy Nursing Home for the kind and compassionate care shown to Eudora, and especially to "her angels" Keri, Veronika, Shelly and Maxine.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Pennfield Baptist Church with visiting on Sunday from 2-6 pm. The service will be held from the church on Monday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Greg Card officiating followed by interment in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fundy Nursing Home or to the Pennfield Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
