Edward Joseph Bonvie

The passing of Edward Joseph Bonvie, husband of Barbara (Mattie) Bonvie of St. George NB occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on September 13, 2022 with his family at his side. Born in Antigonish NS on July 15, 1943, he was a son of the late John and Margaret (Forbes) Bonvie. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Barbara, Ed is survived by his children: Norm Bonvie of Fredericton NB, Angelo Bonvie (Joelene) of L'Etang NB; Chris Bonvie (Heather Greenslade) of Rothesay and Julie Bonvie (Sarah) of Utopia NB; his grandchildren: Curtis, Delaney, Edward, Kelsey, Spiro, Sarah, Paras, Brody and Victor; one brother: Michael Bonvie of Saint John NB; and several cousins.

Prior to retirement, Ed worked as a book keeper for Heritage Salmon. A well known member of the community, in his free time Ed could often be found walking around town and striking up a conversations with whoever he met on his journey. In his younger days he really enjoyed sports, especially hockey and baseball and he also enjoyed being outside in nature either hunting or fishing. When able, Ed was always up for a good hand of Crib or a game of Horseshoes.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. There will be no visiting. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the St. George Catholic Church, St. George NB on Friday at 2:00 pm with Father Rolando Suplido officiating followed by the interment in the parish cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or giving a Blood Donation to your local Canadian Blood Services in Ed's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
