Elizabeth "Betty" Diana Brown

The passing of Elizabeth "Betty" Diana (Mills) Brown, common law wife of Raymond Johnson of Bayside NB, occurred at the residence of her daughter in Bocabec NB on July 16, 2022 surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Saint John NB on April 5, 1944, she was a daughter of Laura Mills and the late Lloyd Mills. A loving common law wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and aunt, in addition to her common law husband of 41 years, Raymond, Betty is survived by her children: Robert (Melissa), Donna (Tom), Darren (Dee), Debra (Robert) and Pamela (Michael); grandchildren: Robert, Sarah, Vanessa, Jennifer, Jordan, Taylor, Joshua and Allison; many great-grandchildren; her mother: Laura Mills; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her father, Betty was predeceased by her husband: Robert Brown; and by two brothers: Bob Mills and Bill Mills.

Prior to retirement Betty worked as a labourer in the Tuna Plant for a number of years and also as a childcare worker in a local daycare. She truly loved children and at one time worked as a cook in an elementary school which she greatly enjoyed. An animal lover, Betty could often be found taking her best friend, Barkley, to the beach for walks. In her free time she enjoyed her Tims Runs and doing crossword puzzles. The love and devotion she had for her family will always be cherished and deeply missed.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the funeral home with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A private family service will be held from the Bocabec United Church followed by interment in the Bocabec Community Cemetery. In Betty's memory donations to the Diabetes Association or to Charlotte County Cancer would be appreciated by the family.
