Douglas Lawrence Stuart
1947-2022
The passing of Douglas Lawrence Stuart formerly of Deer Island NB occurred on July 15, 2022 at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB. Born on May 26, 1947 in Eastport Maine, he was the son of the late Ronald and Hazel (Lord) Stuart. A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Doug is survived by one son: Chad (Tanya) Stuart; his grandchildren: Amanda (Tom), Lacy (Curt) and Madison (Nich); great-grandchildren: Dawson, Jasper, Brier and Colson; one sister: Beth (Stephen) Lambert; the mother of his son: Audrey; and many cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one daughter in infancy: Carol.
A fisherman by trade, Doug spent most of his working life on the water. He had a passion for music and loved nothing more than to be with his family and friends playing his guitar. His sense of humor and outgoing personality will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. A graveside service will be held at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery, Calder's Head NB on Thursday, July 21st, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Following the service there will be a gathering in Doug's memory at the day use area at the Deer Island Point where there will be music and food and many great memories of Doug shared with family and friends. In Doug's memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
