Charlaine "Charlene" Ruby Spofford
The passing of Charlaine "Charlene" Ruby Spofford, wife of David Beverley Spofford of Back Bay NB occurred peacefully at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB on April 26, 2022. Born in Back Bay NB on September 9, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Taylor and Myrna (Hanley) Frye. In addition to her loving husband Bev, she is survived by her daughter Nicole Kelly, sister Laurie Wright and family, many nieces and nephews and special cousins Jill Rae, Gary Frye and Nancy Roberts and their family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Kimberley Ann, loving brother Dwight Frye (Dale Campbell-Frye) and Phyllis French.
Charlene and Bev returned to NB from Toronto in 2004 to care for her mother, Myrna. For those who were lucky enough to know Charlene, they knew of her love for family, friends, and animals. Charlene lovingly adopted and cared for an army of stray cats over the years. Charlene also loved the Christmas season more than any other time of year. It gave her great pleasure to see the joy in those around her and she worked diligently to ensure her daughter experienced the magic of the season while she was growing up. She used to talk about her childhood winters in Back Bay and how exciting it was when Santa arrived outside the store/Toyland and tossed candies to all the awaiting children. Charlene's love, compassionate strength and guidance will truly be missed by her family.
The family would like to thank everyone at Passamaquoddy Lodge for the compassionate care provided to Charlene. Your support will be remembered with great gratitude.
According to Charlene’s wishes, no service will be held. In Charlene's memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
