Janice Eileen Stewart

1938-2022

Janice Eileen Stewart

Surrounded by her family at home, Janice Eileen (Moses) Stewart passed away peacefully ending her courageous battle with cancer on Monday, January 17, 2022. She was born in Blacks Harbour on May 25, 1938 to Harry and Jessie (Ingalls) Moses. In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by her husband David, her sister Karen, sisters in-law, Laura and Dorothy, brothers in-law Norman and Glen and Austin, and best friend Rose. She is survived by her four children:  Mona(Kirk) Swanston, Lisa(Ricky) Murray, Jeffrey(Sari) Stewart, and Susan(Jeff) Cooke; cherished grandchildren: Stephanie, Pam, Jessica, Alice, and Ella; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Abigail, Jenna, and Noah; one great-great grandchild: Adalynn; her brother: Rudy(Barb) of Grand Bay; brother in-law: Bill; and sisters in-law: Edna, Ethel, Joanne, Mary, and Margaret. Janice's kids and grandkids were the joy of her life, each one so precious to her.

Janice wore many hats in her lifetime from factory worker to store owner to secretary of different businesses that she and David owned. She took on each job with gusto but perhaps her favourite job was dispensing life advice to her grandkids like, "Common sense is not all that common anymore." and "Don't get behind a man driving a half-ton truck.". She loved to laugh and instilled that joy of laughter to each one of her kids and grandkids.

In her younger years, Janice was an active member of the St. George Curling Club. She loved wintering in Florida with Dave and her family, her church and church family, singing in the choir, and cooking meals for the comfort committee.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, services will be held for Janice at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Charlotte County Cancer Society or IWK Children's Foundation as both held a special place in her heart.
