William "Bill" Gordon Beney

1966-2021

William "Bill" Gordon Beney

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, William "Bill" Beney of Utopia, NB. Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB with his family by his side on December 22, 2021, the angels took him home. Born in Blacks Harbour NB on June 23, 1966, he was the son of the late Warren and Helen "Nellie" (Bradford) Beney.

Bill was a loving husband to Bonita Beney for 29 years and had been together for 36 years. He was a devoted father to Lacey Beney, Cory MacDonald and his late son Gerald MacDonald. He cherished his grandchildren, Connor, Camryn, Caleb and Kenzie. Anyone who knew Bill would know the pride he had for his children and grandchildren. He worked as a forklift driver at Connors Brothers for 36 years and served on the committee for the employees for many years. Bill was dedicated to his work, passionate about helping people and was known for singing Christmas carols all year round. For Billy, the countdown to Christmas began on December 26. Many people who worked with him and in the community would know him as "Mr. Christmas".

Bill enjoyed making memories with his family; fishing, having BBQ's and attending the annual Holiday parades with his grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, Bonita, Bill is survived by his children: Cory (Sarah) MacDonald of Moncton NB and Lacey Beney of Canal NB; four grandchildren: Connor Lord, Camryn Roberts, Caleb MacDonald and Kenzie MacDonald; his siblings: Carole (Larry) Hanley of Back Bay NB, Winnfield "Winnie" (Cheryl) Beney of St. Stephen NB, Richard Beney of Blacks Harbour NB, John Beney Sr of Back Bay NB, Daniel Beney of Saint John NB, Kenny Beney of Blacks Harbour NB, Barbara Joncas of Saint John NB, Susan (Marc) Robichaud of Rockwood ON and Gerald Beney of Saint John NB; as well as uncles, aunts, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill was predeceased by his loving parents: Warren and Nellie Beney; his beloved son: Gerald MacDonald; his sister: Margaret Chevarie; and by two brothers: Warren Beney and Eric Beney.

Our sincerest gratitude goes out to the Staff of 3B South at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the outstanding care they provided for our beloved father and husband. And to the community of Charlotte County and beyond, who showed their love for Billy and for our family during the most difficult of times.
