Valerie Eileen Thompson

1938-2021

Valerie Eileen Thompson

Valerie Eileen Thompson, 83 of St. George and formerly of Dipper Harbour, N.B. passed peacefully with her sister Joyce and nephew Robert by her side at the Fundy Nursing Home in Blacks Harbour, N.B. on November 11, 2021. Born October 5, 1938 in Sussex, N.B. She is predeceased by her parents John and Grace (Friars) Thompson of Dipper Harbour.

Val enjoyed her happy life in Dipper Harbour. She delighted attending Fishermen’s Days in Dipper and meeting everyone. Ester Thompson Ferguson was a very special friend to Val. Her life living in St. George was also most enjoyable. Spending time with Val reminded us all to make the most of what we are each given. Karen and Andrew at Fundy Bay Manor, St. George were like her second family. The family would like to thank the Fundy Nursing Home Staff for all of their care.

Val was always up on the latest weather forecast (this she took from her father who was a fisherman), Val  loved cats, she was unequalled at keeping track of all important dates and above all loved to be with people. She loved buying her Pepsi and walking around town where everyone knew her.

She is survived by her sister Joyce (Sampson) of St. Stephen, her nieces, Helen and Heather and her nephews, John and Robert.

A graveside service, for all wishing to attend, while respecting covid protocols, will be held at the Maces Bay Cemetery on Saturday, November 27th at 2 pm. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice or just do a good deed for someone.
