Joan Marie Leslie

The passing of Joan Marie Leslie of L'Etang NB occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on November 1, 2021. Born in Back Bay NB on August 23, 1939, she was a daughter of the late D. Elmer and Muriel (Hooper) Leslie. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Joan is survived by her children: Leslie (Mike) Young of L'Etang NB and Corey (Lisa) Ward of Lake Placid NY; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister: Melva (Robert) Howard of Back Bay NB; special friend: Gilbert King of Bethel NB; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by one brother: Malcolm Leslie.

Joan was a lady who loved to be in nature. She could often be found out in the woods with her long time special friend Gilbert, together they enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling and tipping when the season permitted. She took great pride in the fact that she was still making wreaths into her 70s. Joan loved her grandchildren and great-grandchild greatly and looked forward to seeing their photos and she had a special bond with her great-grandson, Daxton.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. In keeping with Joan's wishes there will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at the St. George Rural Cemetery with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating at a later date. In Joan's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer would be appreciated by the family.
