Allan "Al" Arthur Sullivan

The passing of Allan Arthur Sullivan, husband of Rhona C. (Wright) Sullivan, occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Beaver Harbour NB on October 6, 2021. Born in St. Stephen NB on October 20, 1939, he was a son of the late Peter and Annie (Denyer) Sullivan. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife, Rhona, Al is survived by three daughters: Carrie Bosien of St. George NB, Julie Henry of Pennfield NB and Elizabeth "Beth" (Jason) Lomax of Little Lepreau NB; one son: Peter (Rachel) Sullivan of Beaver Harbour NB; his grandchildren: Kaylie, Jenna, Garrett, Cassidy, Brennan, Bradaigh, Bridgette and Ellie and chosen grandson: Kieran Koteff; great-grandchildren: Cruz, Nash, Jax, Nora and Hayes; two sisters: Betty (Frank) Wright of Beaver Harbour NB and Theresa (Gerald) Fawkes of St. Stephen NB ; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Al was predeceased by one son: Allan Daniel Sullivan; two brothers: Daniel and James; two sisters: Marjorie and Joan.

Prior to retirement, Al worked as a meat cutter who was employed at several local retail locations including Dominion, Save Easy, Freshmart and Terry's Beef and More. Al was a happy go lucky kind of man whose sense of humor and friendly smile allowed him to make friends with all he met. He was a long time member of the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church and former caretaker of the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. His love, devotion, sense of humor and willingness to help others will always be remembered and cherished by his family.

The family would like to thank the staff of Kindred Home Care and the Eastern Charlotte Extra Mural Nurses, especially Sherri Hoyt and Tammy Coutts for their care and compassion which allowed Al to remain in his home during his final days.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church, Blacks Harbour NB with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The service will be held at the church on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bill Lea officiating followed by the interment in Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Please keep in mind due to Covid 19 restrictions, proof of vaccination and masks will be required to attend both visitation and the funeral service. In Al's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
