Phyllis Jean McLeod
The passing of Phyllis Jean (Noddin) McLeod, wife of the late Ralph James McLeod of Pleasant Ridge NB occurred peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on September 10, 2021. Born in Pleasant Ridge on May 9, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Lela (Goss) Noddin. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Phyllis is survived by her three sons: Terry (Patricia) McLeod of Moores Mills NB, Rocky McLeod (Lynn Blackburn) of Fredericton NB and Ryan McLeod (Faye Gutherie) of Clarence Ridge NB; three daughters: Joanne (Graham) Johnson of Rolling Dam NB, Rose (Kevon) Kinney of Johnson Settlement NB and Diane McLeod (Ron Brisley) of Old Ridge NB; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother: Eddie Noddin of St. Stephen NB; sisters: Ruth Thomas-Montgomery of Rolling Dam NB and Josephine Gowan of Elmsville NB; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was predeceased by one son in infancy: Jamie; one granddaughter: Katrina Kinney; brothers: Cecil Noddin and Ronzo and Alvin in infancy; and sisters: Verna Whittier and Freda Johnson.
During her working life, Phyllis held many careers including working in the woods with her husband Ralph, being at the Tuna Plant in Bayside, working with the Department of Transportation and finally working at Connor's Brothers. She was a down home country woman who loved hunting and fishing and driving the back roads. Phyllis loved spending time with her family and enjoyed a good picnic when able.
As keeping with Phyllis' wishes, there will be no visiting. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the Rolling Dam Baptist Cemetery, Rolling Dam NB where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Ralph. In Phyllis' memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
