Robert Charles Mahoney

With broken hearts the family of Robert Charles Mahoney announce his passing on August 26, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB. Born in St. John's NL on January 5, 1959, he was the son of the late Charlie and Bertha (Smith) Mahoney. A loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, in-law and friend, Rob is survived by his wife: Susan (Hennessey) Mahoney of Pennfield NB; children: Dustin Dwyer (Brandy), William Mahoney (Alesha), Laura (Cody) Richard and Alyssa Mahoney (Rahul); his grandchildren: Caleb, Aly and Mylah; nieces: Krista and Jenna; nephews: Kristoffer, Patrick and Shawn; brother-in-law: Art (Kathy) Hennessey; sister-in-law: Laura Skodje; mother-in-law: Anita Hennessey; his chosen siblings: Kevin Stevens, Kevin Smith and Darlene LeCarte-Stevens; and countless friends. In addition to his parents, Rob was predeceased by his best friend: Billy Stevens. "Set up the checkerboard brother, I'm coming to play."

Rob loved sports. In his younger years he excelled at hockey, baseball, darts and pool, but his passion was always hunting and fishing. Many great memories were made and adventures were had with Kevin, Steve, John, Ashley and Darlene H. Rob was currently employed with St. George Golf Course and he was proud of the work he was doing there. He was also very thankful for the support of the VanTassel family during his illness.

We would like to thank our friends and family who supported Rob through his journey. Special thanks to the doctors and the amazing nurses of 5A South.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. In keeping with Rob's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A casual gathering for friends and family will be held at the Mahoney's home, 220 Route 778, Pennfield NB on Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. In Rob's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer would be greatly appreciated by the family.
