A loving husband, father, papa and brother, Brian is survived by his wife Barb (Thorne) of 41 years, his children Nathan Leslie Melvin of Beaver Harbour N.B. and Haley Melvin of Pocologan N.B.. During his working life he held various jobs including a printer for Kwik Copy Printing, supervisor at the Irving Mill in Pennfield and retired after 18 years as a Supervisor at the Can & Cover division of Connors Bros in Blacks Harbour N.B..

Brian was a meticulous carpenter, and this is displayed in his home that he shared with his family. After retirement Brian and Barb spent many hours and 20,000 km enjoying their Canam SidexSide. Trips on the bike always included food for a picnic, a chain saw to cut down trees in case they got stuck and music on the Bose speaker. In earlier days before buying a GPS they relied on tying strings on trees to follow their way back to the vehicle.
