Gaston Sheldon Leavitt

At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on March 29, 2021, Mr. Gaston Sheldon Leavitt, beloved husband of Glenna (Foote) Leavitt of Back Bay NB. Born in Back Bay NB on February 12, 1934, he was a son of the late Edward and Hilda L. (Harris) Leavitt.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Gaston is survived by his wife: Glenna; daughters: Carol Ann (Wayne) Shaw of L'Etete NB and Joan Crocker of Pennfield NB; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; his brother: Laren Leavitt of St. Stephen NB; sisters: Eunice Lord of St. George NB and Marcia (Arthur) Heaysman of Saint John NB as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins including nephew, Dean Albright. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sons: Charles Leavitt and Jimmy Hill.

Prior to his retirement Gaston was a fisherman by trade having worked both as self employed and with various other fisherman. He enjoyed the simple life, from sitting in his home watching T.V, to joining his friends at the local wharf for the daily news. In earlier years he was a avid card player who enjoyed a game of 63's. He will be sadly missed by his family.

Resting at the Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral will be held from the church on Thursday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating followed by the interment at Back Bay Community Cemetery. Due to limited seating for the service, those wishing to attend are asked to call the funeral home at 755-3533 to pre-register for a seat.  In Gaston's memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
