Garnet Allison Green
The unexpected passing of Garnet Allison Green, husband of Glenda (Camick) Green of Fairhaven NB occurred at the Lord’s Cove Wharf on January 22, 2021. Born in St. Stephen NB on May 18, 1944, he was a son of Josephine (Wilson) Green and the late Payson A. Green. A loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, in addition to his wife, Glenda, he is survived by his children: Brendan (Colleen) Green and Katrina (Tim) Martin all of Deer Island NB; his grandchildren: Ashley, Jared, and Hayden; his mother: Josephine Green of Deer Island NB; siblings Bryant (Donna) Green and Greta (Allison) Pendleton both of Deer Island NB; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A well-known and respected man of the community, Garnet greeted everyone with a friendly smile. He worked for Connors Brothers for many years as a Captain of a Herring Carrier. He was also a commercial fisherman, fishing lobster, scallops and other seafood. Fishing was not just a job for Garnet, he loved his time at sea. Garnet was a member of the Fairhaven Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. His love of singing went beyond that, often blessing others with his singing over the VHF radio. He was an avid deer hunter and loved to spend time in the woods.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all services for Garnet will be private and held at a later date. His interment will take place at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery, Calder’s Head NB at a later time. In Garnet’s memory, donations to Fairhaven Baptist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
