Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John,NB on
August 6, 2005, Mr. Leo Alfred Deveau, husband of Beatrice (Hooper)
Deveau of Caithness, NB. Born in Mascarene, NB, on April 7th, 1926,
he was a son of the late Alfred and Gertrude (Wilcox) Deveau. A
loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he is survived,
besides his wife, by one son, Raymond (Donna) Deveau of Bonny River
NB; three daughters, Linda (Andrew) Donovan of Woodstock, NB, Pauline
(Rick) Dunham of Moncton, NB, and Heather Acheson (Jeff Cooke) of
Blacks Harbour, NB; seven grandchildren, Sonny Babineau, Cindy
Babineau, Daphne Deveau, Tyler Acheson, Amanda Acheson, Jennifer Cooke
and Julie Dunham; five great-grandchildren; one great-great
grandchild, Selena; one brother, Hazen (Rose) Deveau of Caithness and
one sister, Shirley (Doug) Raaflaub of St.Andrews, NB, and several
nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers,
Leonard and Sherman.
Prior to his retirement, Leo had been employed by Irving Oil Limited
for14 years as an oil delivery man. Music was his hobby as he loved
to collect records and play music.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George,
NB (755-3533), where the service will be held on Tuesday at 2pm from
The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel with Pastor Calvin MacDonald
officiating, followed by interment in the St.George Rural Cemetery.
Visiting at the funeral home on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. In
Leo`s memory, donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, or
a charity of the donors choice, would be appreciated by the family.
