Hugh Hartford Cooke

At the Charlotte County Hospital St. Stephen NB on Monday, April 13, 2015, Mr. Hugh Hartford Cooke, husband of Phyllis E.(Cooke) Cooke of Back Bay NB. Born at Back Bay, NB on March 26, 1934 he was a son of the late David and Flossie (Harris) Cooke.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Hugh is survived in addition to his wife Phyllis, by his sons: Franklin (Penny) Cooke of Back Bay NB and Ritchie (Nancy) Cooke of L'Etete NB; daughters: Vicki Lynn (Eric) Cooke of Back Bay NB and Starr (Mike) Cooke of Mascarene NB; five grandchildren: Carson (Faith), Rodney (Samantha), Nickilee (Jonathan), Brett (Sylvia) and Bethany (Robert); 10 great-grandchildren; one brother; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son: Jamie Kim; daughter: Hope Phyllis; granddaughter: Candy Jill; daughter-in-law: Kelly (Simpson) Cooke; and four brothers.

Prior to his retirement, Hugh was a self employed fisherman all his life. He enjoyed building model boats. Hugh was also a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with family especially his grandchildren.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB from where the service will be held on Wednesday at 2 PM with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. Interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery will be held in the spring. Visiting at the church on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In Hugh's memory, donations to the Alzheimers Society, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
